Maths and waterbed designHow Maths is used to design waterbeds Waterbeds are mattresses containing water in them. They are having rectangular frame in which the mattress is inserted. These waterbeds are highly comfortable when people use them for having a sound sleep at late night. The manufacturing process of waterbeds has changed a lot these days. There are latest methods coming in but math’s always has a great influence on the manufacture of waterbeds. This is greatly used in the design of waterbeds whatever be the method used for manufacturing. Waterbeds are manufactured by various techniques. All the methods used for making waterbeds have to take into consideration the expected weight of waterbed and the number of people supposed to be sleeping on it. If a slight difference occurs in it, there are chances that waterbeds are not able to be used properly. This requires various calculations made on the basis of the size of waterbed and the density and volume of water filled in it. Water is a heavy liquid and hence proper calculation has to be made to check whether a water bed with a certain bladder type can hold that much amount of water as required. This mattress has to hold water and at the same time has to provide support to people sleeping on the bed. This necessitates the need of a mattress that can hold the expected number of people. This requires mathematical calculation to be done before designing the waterbed. It needs a calculation after assuming the weight of the water to be taken in the mattress, frame of the waterbed and the weight of two or more people intended to use the specific design of mattress. Maths is also needed to calculate the size of the people going to use it. The square feet of the floor and the height of the person are needed to design the waterbed. The weight of the bed has to be divided by the square feet of the floor. This can be done only by knowing maths. The load limit of an average house has to be calculated and this has to be compared with the average weight of the waterbed. Thus math is an unavoidable part of design of a waterbed. Designers are supposed to make proper calculation for designing waterbeds. If any mistake is made in the calculation, serious after effects are to be faced. The waterbeds will not be strong enough to hold people and this causes health problems in people. There are chances that the waterbed bursts if the calculation has a small mistake. If there is anything wrong about the calculation, waterbeds will be damaged when people start using it. The entire effort will be wasted and waterbeds will be wasted. The durability of water bed is also affected by mistakes in waterbed design calculations. |
